A Brief Glimpse Into the Mind of Man

I found a very short conversation I had with Chris to be quite revealing regarding the nature of man. Yesterday was grocery shopping day and Costco happened to be on the agenda. While perusing the aisles, I glanced over at the beer section and noticed a variety pack of Belgian Beers. Last night while taking a bath I told him I saw something at Costco that he would like and mentioned the Belgian Beer pack. His eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. To test the waters, I immediately said, "and, I'm pregnant" (I'm not, by the way, this was only a test). For some reason the same sparkle in his eyes was not forthcoming. I accused him of being more excited about the beer I mentioned than my fake news of being pregnant. About two minutes later, he looked up at me and told me he just now realized what I said...he'd been too busy focusing on that beer to even understand my announcement.

Insubordinate, subversive, seditious!!! (You must say this with progressively strident tone) Oh, what evil games you play! My emotions are not so cheap as to be fooled with! (Do I seem sufficiently upset?) Ok, so it is true but, you have to understand I get the emotional response gauntlet on a regular basis and we were not talking about just any beer...but Belgium Beer. (Notice the caps)

Also, where did you find that picture??? It looks like I had just finished off the Belgium variety pack.

Ok, last comment. Is this post more revealing about the mind of man or the mind of woman??? Just wondering.

The picture is one you took of yourself (that might be worth exploring as another glimpse into your mind), and what do you mean about an emotional response gauntlet? And, finally, stop posting on your own blog! J.

It makes me feel important to have all of these comments on the blog about me. None of our other blogs have 5 comments. Yea, I took that picture so you would know what you where missing by sleeping in last saturday. However, I thought I had deleted the evidence after you saw it.

Jane....making comments like that aren't very funny...oh and i read the whole blog about the dog and the neighbor's house...that was pretty funny...

Will - you comment on Jane and Chris' blog, but not on mine?! What's with that?!?!?!? I'm feeling a bit hurt...

By the way, Chris, I'm in aggreement with Jane... commenting on your own blog is a bit odd.

But just to make this post seem outrageously popular, I've now officially raised your comments up to 9.

Why stop at 9... I think you need 10. I do have to say that I normally never read comments on peoples' blogs, but when I saw there were 6... well, I thought it must have been important!

By the way, Chris, it is my humble opinion that you should be thanking Jane for giving you ample opportunities to learn how to respond appropriately. See, while it is "Just a Test," your (ahem... miserable) failure has a chance of seeming amusing. However, if in the midst of early-preganancy emotions you perform similarly during the "Not a Test" version of the event, you may find yourself in a difficult predicament requiring much restitution. So, I think you should thank her for providing you with adequate training opportunities.

Ha! You raging alcoholic! Very funny stuff. Last time Dawn and I found out we were pregnant (we...that's funny too), we both cried, but it all turned out beautifully. I do know what to get you for your birthday now.
