We decided to try a little rice cereal yesterday. I wasn't sure how she'd do with a spoon, as she's never had that experience before, but she ate like a little trooper. And kicked her legs for more. A good deal of it ended up on her face and not in her mouth. She looks a bit surprised right here...that's probably because mommy was making a huge deal out of her eating so well and she couldn't figure out why I was so excited.

That's my girl! I had a sneaking suspicion that she'd do well with solids. I think it has something to do with her spectacular lineage!
As for freaking her out with your excitement, you'll have to be careful of that in the future. Try to dial it back a little, if possible. I had a friend that did something similar when her daughter surprised her by going tinkle in her potty chair far sooner than expected. The poor baby burst into tears and didn't go near the potty again for about 6 months!
